Iran

Now Bush wants to invade Iran. Where are the troops he plans to use? I'll tell you...walk down to the nearest bathroom and look at yourself in the mirror. You will be one of the next faces of death for thousands of innocent people. The draft will come...there is already too much talk about it to think that they don't want to do this. That bastard looked right in the camera during the debates and said that it would never happen....I'll bet you 10 to 1 thats another lie. I'll tell you what Bush...I'll volunteer for the armed forces as long as I'm standing in line right behind your daughters and then they better be riding right next to me in the bradley....If not....no deal.

I guess their sand was on top of our oil....

Before the invasion of Iraq, the Bush Administration warned Americans that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction. But after two years of hunting, the White House says that the active search for WMDs is over and that no evidence of the banned weapons has been discovered. Bush press secretary Scott McClellan said that the administration is not hopeful that any will
be found. “There may be a couple, a few people, that are focused on that”
but the search has largely concluded, he said. The Iraq Survey Group, made up of some 1,200 military and intelligence specialists and support staff, spent nearly two
years searching military installations, factories and laboratories where equipment and products might be converted quickly to making weapons. “If they have any reports of (WMDs) obviously they’llcontinue to follow up on those reports,” McClellan said. “A lot of their mission is focused elsewhere now.” Focusing on Iraq’s stockpiles of banned chemical and biological weapons — as well as Saddam
Hussein’s dreams of building nuclear bombs — Secretary of State Colin Powell laid out the case to invade Iraq before the U.N. Security Council on March 7, 2003. While President Bush focused on his promise to secure the U.S. from another 9/11, he never wavered on protecting Americans from the threat Iraq posed.
“On its present course, the Iraqi regime is a threat of unique urgency. It has developed weapons of mass death,” Bush said on Oct. 2, 2002.
“We cannot wait for the final proof — the smoking gun — that could come in
the form of a mushroom cloud,” he said days later. Vice President Dick
Cheney was just as blunt as the president. “Simply stated, there is no doubt
that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction,” Cheney
warned on Aug. 26, 2002. “There is no doubt he is amassing them to use
against our friends, against our allies, and against us.” Democrats who’ve
doubted the WMD claims all along said the White House must explain.
“President Bush needs to explain to the American people why he was so
wrong, for so long,” House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said. “After a war that has consumed nearly two years and millions of dollars, and a war that has cost thousands of lives, no weapons of mass destruction have been found, nor
has any evidence been uncovered that such weapons were moved to
another country,” Pelosi said in a statement. In October the president formed am independent panel to taking on another investigation — to finding out how the WMD information could be so wrong. U.S. weapons hunter Charles Duelfer, who’s set to deliver his final report on the search next month, reported in October that
Hussein had no weapons of mass destruction.

CIA Director Porter Goss

My first post...and I'll make it a political one.

Or maybe it's more of a sad post than anything else. Or a frightening and scary reality. Nah, nevermind, it's just another example of W's incompetency.

George Tenet resigned as CIA director on July 11, 2004, and was replaced by Porter Goss on August 10, 2004. For those who may not know, the 3 letters CIA stand for "Central Intelligence Agency". The key word there is "intelligence". Again, the key word there is intelligence. INTELLIGENCE. INTELLIGENCE!!!

Got it? Ok, so when you hear that somebody named Porter Goss has been nominated by the President of the United States of America to oversee one of the most important agencies in the world (and an INTELLIGENCE agency, remember), you would naturally expect someone who is intelligent, right? After all, W did say about Goss, "He knows the CIA inside and out. He's the right man to lead this important agency at this critical moment in our nation's history."

So who is Porter Goss? I'll tell you who. He's a first class dumbass who President Wanker has signed, sealed, and delivered to protect you and your loved ones from terrorists. And instead of writing his accolades, accomplishments, and abilities down for you, how about I just let Mr. Goss tell you them himself? Yeah, that sounds like a keen idea. In fact, maybe you'd like to see a video!?!?! SURE!! HERE IT IS! So, Mr. Goss, tell us about you and the CIA!!

INTERVIEWER: [Y]ou come from intelligence. This is what you did, this is what you know.
REP. GOSS: Uh, that was, uh, 35 years ago.
INTERVIEWER: Okay.
REP. GOSS: It is true I was in CIA from approximately the late 50's to approximately the early 70's. And it's true I was a case officer, clandestine services office and yes I do understand the core mission of the business. I couldn't get a job with CIA today. I am not qualified. I don't have the language skills. I, you know, my language skills were romance languages and stuff. We're looking for Arabists today. I don't have the cultural background probably. And I certainly don't have the technical skills, uh, as my children remind me every day, "Dad you got to get better on your computer." Uh, so, the things that you need to have, I don't have.-- Rep. Porter Goss, March 3, 2004, Washington, DC

People...WAKE UP! President "Moral Values" is bastardizing our beautiful nation and all you do is laugh at how his hollow head bounces like a bobble-head doll? THE NEW CIA DIRECTOR ADMITTED SEVERAL MONTHS BEFORE HE WAS EVEN OFFERED THE JOB THAT HE IS "NOT QUALIFIED"!! YET BUSH DOES EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO NOMINATE AND ENDORSE HIM. Excuse me while I go hide in my bomb shelter. Good night.

Religious decisions based on tragic disasters

I was reading The Wall Street Journal's personal Journal section today where the main story was about the effects on religion pending a "natural" disaster. They interviewed people from all religions asking whether this disaster increased or decreased their faith. My views...Religion is man made, so, what are the religious implications....none. Now, my views on whether God had something to do with this????....I believe that there is a God because this is an awfully complicated world, people, animals and ecology to happen so quickly in time...I believe something is behind all of this. Anyhow, my take on the Tsunami and its destruction is this; The world is made of rock...all forms of it, from molten metals deep below the surface all the way to sand on the beaches. Just like the air that swirls around us on a daily basis the rock heats and cools. It happens slow in some areas and faster in others. Now, to get a little deeper...this is not one large rock that we are standing on (some of you were sleeping in your geology classes...shame on you), it is a lot of smaller rocks consistently smashing into each other from the force of gravity affected by the spinning of the plant. This is plate tectonics. These "plates" are constantly under pressure (because of the heating and cooling...like the atmospheric pressures in a sense) cause them to shift. Sometimes this happens under water causing....you know...Tsunamis. This happens when the rock slides either up or down causing water to either rush to fill or push out. An example of this would be to get a bulldozer and lift up one side of a swimming pool (i suggest it be and above ground cause the below ground are really expensive). Watch as the water rushes to level itself out.

To get to the point now...Did God put his finger down on this particular area and make a Tsunami happen??? I doubt it. Did he create everything including plate tectonics which caused it....probably (though I have no proof...its just a feeling). Did everyone that was in the way deserve to die???...No.

I am deeply sorry for all the people who lost their lives, families, and loved ones. It is a great tragedy not to be taken lightly...and I in no way am taking that way.

These disasters happen all over the world of the same magnitude but not causeing many deaths and we don't question our faith. Some people comment that there can't be a gracious God cause "it" wouldn't let this happen...well what about the thousands that lose their lives to hurricanes, tornados, avalanches, floods, volcanos, and all other ecological disasters? Should we point fingers at God and blame him? I don't think that would be very thankful for all the other things that God has graciously afford us. God created an intracite system that allows life to thrive on this plant, to keep that intact some disasters (as we call them) have to befall us so that generations to come can survive. The explination of what happened is God's science. God can be seen in the billions of people who have donated to relief whether it be money, time, or talents. That is where God is in this.

This is what I like to see....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-pacific/4145259.stm

Take a look at the bbc's world aid stats. What is really cool about this is that so much money is coming from private donations. Some of which outdue the governments donations in their countries. Even the poorest country in the world was able to raise $100,000. It's a shame that it takes a natural disaster to make people come together...but none the less, they are coming together. This is how everyday should be. Pat yourself on the back if you donated...if not pat the keys on the keyboard and get it done.
