Rings in the in-between........

Have you ever wondered where lost or misdirected telephone calls go? For instance, I called CircuitCity's delivery department today and upon dialing the number there was ringing....which I expected. Then it continued to ring....and ring....and ring. No tele-promter or, god forbid, a human. Just ringing. (I know what your thinking, "you didn't dial the right number jackass"....but on the contrary!..I dialed the correct number 3 times....bitch). I thought lets see how long this could go on....it has to go somewhere...there is after all a phone ringing...Somebody will get anoyed and pick up. 10 minutes of ringing and still nothing. Just ringing.......where do all the rings go?
