human nature
I wonder what makes people assholes or unwilling to be logical.....
This morning I called a pizza shop wanting to place an order ahead of time so when I arrived the pizza will be close to ready. Thus maximizing my lunch time. This should be easy...... No, of course its not. Why not you ask????.... because of Human Nature.
The pizza shop refused to take my order on the premise that they do not take orders over the phone. So I say, "Can I make an order for pick-up? They say, "Sure, what do you want." My reply, "I want to place an order so that I can eat at your restaurant at noon. "Sorry, we don't take orders over the phone." ??? "But you just said you would take my order for pick up why can't I just eat it at the shop?" ...."I'm sorry Sir, we don't take orders over the phone."
So I hang up on them. I call back two minutes later and ask if I can place an order for pick-up......they say, "of course sir what would you like?"
Does anyone see the logic in this at all? I'm failing to see anything but a case of assholeitis.

Ok, so heres what i did.....I placed the order for pick-up and when I got there I sat down at the bar and ate my pizza. There were no complaints or resistance on the part of the pizza shop. So again, why are people so unwilling to be logical unless it is forced upon them. They could have avoid pissing me off by saying..."sure, we'll take your order and see you at noon...have a nice day". But they didn't.
